Meet Kylie
I’ve known Kylie for years, ever since the first time I did her family’s photo which doesn’t seem like very long ago!! Dance has been a huge part of her life, so it was important to her that we incorporate dance into her session! She brought a pair of pointe shoes for her sunflower senior portrait session. Since it’s a little challenging to show off any moves in a sunflower field (and possibly muddy!), those shots were saved for the studio session.
Rodale Sunflower Garden
This is where you should talk about the location and why it’s great for senior photos! Explain why it worked so well for the session, why your client loved it, and why it might be a good choice for future seniors to choose for their photos.
One of the best spots for sunflower photos in the Lehigh Valley is the Rodale Organic Institue at St. Luke’s Anderson Campus. Middle to late August is probably when the sunflowers will be at their peak. We timed the session just right, around 6:30PM, when the day started to cool off a little bit, and the sun was at just the right height. We had the perfect light for her session, and the sunset didn’t disappoint!
Studio session at Fox and Finch
I don’t own my own studio space (yet!), but anytime I need one, I use Fox and Finch Studio in Fountain Hill, PA. They have an amazing assortment of furniture, multiple vignettes for different types of sessions, and moveable backgrounds so you can create just about any kind of setup. The natural light coming in from the large windows was absolutely perfect for some of the dance shots. For others, I was able to mix in some gels to get some creative looks. I’m absolutely thrilled with what we were able to capture here. It’s always a great location for studio sessions!
